Would you just look at this gorgeous baby girl! Lucy was absolutely perfect at our newborn session, she could not have been more of an angel. I truly loved working with her parents as well!

One of my favorite aspects of capturing newborns and their family, is that I get the chance to make moms feel beautiful even when their bodies are in that limbo stage. As a mom to two, I have been right there. When you first give birth to your baby, your body is in such a weird stage! You’re not pregnant anymore but you still have a little bump so the clothes that you had while pregnant don’t necessarily work and then your old clothes before you were pregnant don’t work either.

I love that I can provide a full wardrobe for my new moms that are flattering and you don’t have to go out and purchase an outfit that you may or may not wear again because of your changing body! I also pride myself on knowing the right poses and angles that are the most flattering! My goal as your newborn and family photographer is to make sure that not only your brand new baby looks perfect and amazing while capturing all of their brand new details, but to make you as parents feel beautiful too. Those first few weeks are tough we all know that! But I’m gonna do my very best to make you look your very best!

What makes a perfect Newborn Session? It’s all about the details!

I love capturing those super detailed images such as tiny toes, and up-close lips, as well as those darling back wrinkles and perfect eye lashes! Babies grow so quickly and having images of those tiny details really capture those memories for a lifetime! Patience is the key to getting these perfect shots! Lots of patience and focusing on every little detail.

Newborn sessions are a lot more work than they might appear. There is a lot that needs to happen in the background in order to produce those perfect shots.

Keeping the baby asleep is essential to a smooth session and in order to do that, a lot needs to happen. I keep my studio very warm for newborns and have a heater close by, especially for those naked shots. I play white noise, keep the lights dim, and have a lavender essential oil diffuser going. All of these steps really create the perfect environment for a nap! I admit we occasional have parents fall asleep as well while they have a break from caring for their newborn!

To keep the baby sleeping we have to go slow and keep them very comfortable at all times! This includes changing poses or outfits, everything is done very slow, all while keeping the little one safe and cozy.

I use layered blankets, supportive pillows, different lenses, lighting, backgrounds, and props during every session. Lots of planning happens to ensure the session goes as smooth as possible and we set the perfect mood. I prepare as much as possible before the client arrives, again it’s all in the details!

Focusing on the tiny details is what really elevates the photos. That’s why newborn sessions can take as long as they do. We are on the baby's time! But gosh is it totally worth it for amazing shots like the ones below!

I love what I do! I pride myself on making your baby and you as comfortable as possible throughout the whole process! If you haven’t booked a newborn session yet, I’d love to hear from you! I can’t get enough of these babies!

I really wanted to keep this precious baby boy! He was so beautiful and so cuddly! I mean…just look at that hair and those cheeks! I just can’t!!!

The most common color to use with boys is, of course, blue. But I really love using neutral colors like grays and creams. They really complimented his skin tone and that beautiful dark hair! I always ask my clients if they have color preferences so that I can accommodate those, however it’s also so much fun when I am given free rein to be creative!

This was simply a perfect newborn session with this little charmer! He was a dream to work with and we were able to capture some great images of this sleepy boy!

If you like what you see and have a new little one of your own, please contact me! I’d love to work with you and capture some precious memories!

Oh my goodness this sweet boy was nothing short of a dream at his newborn session! Just look at his perfect little face :) And I can say this with full confidence, he was absolutely the most calm baby I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.

Don’t even get me started on his sweet parents! They were just as much as a pleasure as sweet baby Grayson was! (I even got to sneak in some cuddles with him at our ordering appointment!)

They all get an A+ in my book and I am so happy to share his beautiful gallery!

One of my favorite families EVER had another baby for me to photograph and I couldn’t be happier!! Baby sister Jocelyn is the absolute cutest and looks so much like her big sis :) From her hair to her “cry” face, its almost like they copied and pasted! I can not wait to continue to watch her grow and change just like I got the privilege with her big sister Josie!

Beautiful little Briella was such a perfect doll for this newborn session!!!

She kept her parents awake the whole night before hand, so I know they were exhausted, but sleepy babies are perfect for getting those darling shots! She was just an angel the whole time!

I am OBSESSED with the vintage lacy outfit and bonnet set she is wearing below! It’s so delicate and beautiful and looked perfect on this delicate beautiful baby!

She really looks just like a baby doll and I was simply delighted that I got to dress her up in so many different colors, textures, and try different styles. I still can’t believe sometimes that this is my JOB!!!! I’m so blessed! I can’t wait to get your Newborn session booked today!

One of the concerns mommas come to me with is “have I waited too long for my baby’s newborn session???” My answer is almost always NO!

This session is a prime example!! I believe sweet baby Isla was already around 4-6 weeks old when we had her newborn session and she did so well!! I work at baby’s pace and take their cues on sleeping and being comfortable, so almost every single time, I get them to fall asleep to get those sweet sleeping images.

This is not to say that I don’t suggest newborn sessions to be held around day 6 to 21 after being born however. And that is due to them being more sleepy in those early weeks, as well as documenting their tiny-ness because they get big so very quickly!!

So don’t hesitate to reach out for a newborn session all the way up to 6-8 weeks! Contact me HERE for more info and to set up your session today!

Beautiful Jaida decided to come a little early and I know her family is so happy to meet her! Her mom had her maternity session with me just in time because just about a week later, Jaida made her debut!! We’re all so thankful we got that maternity session in when we did because momma rocked it! Jaida is the perfect addition to her sweet family and perfectly rounds them out! I love how much her big brother Jaxon adores her :) When they were in the studio, he would randomly come and check on her and just give her a little touch and it was the sweetest thing ever! I can tell that they will be very close and have a great relationship!

I can relate to that personally a lot too as my son and daughter are a little over two years apart. Harrison has always treated Lylah-Joye so sweetly and from the very beginning had just wanted to love on her and protect her :) I love capturing that bond in photographs!!

Photographing babies with their siblings definitely can be challenging but oh so rewarding when I get that perfect shot! Just as in any aspect of being a newborn photographer, the end really is so worth any amount of patience it takes!!

I absolutely loved documenting this sweet family and I can’t wait to watch this sweet pair grow!! Contact me for any details on newborn or sibling sessions!!
